Hi, I'm Miss Julie!
Miss Julie brings over 25 years of experience teaching and educating infants, children, and families about water safety. As the lead swim instructor and owner of Water Safe Swim, her passion for promoting water safety continues to inspire her work.
Julie and her husband, Troy, have lived in the Lodi area for 21 years while raising their six children along the way. She cherishes her role as a mom, enjoying family dinners and spending quality time at home. In addition to her dedication to water safety, Julie is also an EMT and first responder, with a love for the fast-paced, dynamic environment of nightshift in the ER. She spent 11 years working at Lodi Memorial Hospital in both the ER and cardiology departments.
Julie’s commitment to water safety extends beyond teaching lessons. She has trained seven Water Safe Swim instructors and remains a passionate advocate for water safety education in her community. She looks forward to sharing her extensive knowledge and experience with you and your family.

I’m so thankful I put both our boys in Water Safe Swim with Julie! As a parent it’s the most reassuring feeling knowing that your children can turn over, float, and get to the edge of a pool if needed. She makes the whole experience fun for the kids. She follows up with swim days where kids can come back and play with her in the pool and she can reinforce good technique. Julie truly cares for the safety of our children around water and has a heart for the community.

How Miss Julie's Journey Began
Miss Julie’s journey in water safety began in 2000 when her son, born with genetic challenges, participated in Infant Swimming Resource (ISR) lessons taught by ISR founder Dr. Harvey Barnett, PhD. Inspired by her medical background, she was certified as an ISR company instructor, teaching in Orlando, FL and Carlsbad, CA before moving to Lodi, CA in 2004 as the only certified water safety instructor north of Los Angeles. Over the years, Julie collaborated with fellow instructors to expand water safety education and programs in Northern California. After the ISR company underwent leadership changes, she honored her non-compete clause, later rebranding as Water Safe Swim. Balancing a career in the medical field, an EMT license, and raising six children, she dedicated herself to seasonal swim lessons, prioritizing safety, quality instruction, and trust. With 25 seasons of experience, Miss Julie’s commitment to water safety and her rich background ensures confidence for every family she serves.
